An overview of Fragile X Syndrome (FXS) What is fragile X, how are FXS and autism related and what are the best practice intervention strategies that make a difference for those affected by FXS.

This seminar will review the Genetics and Characteristics  of Fragile X Syndrome, as well as provide information on Sensory, Language and Routines-based strategies that foster the best education and intervention approaches.  The similarities and differences with autism are also discussed.
Tracy Murnan Stackhouse is president and co-founder of the Developmental & Fragile X Resource Centre (Developmental FX) in Denver, Colorado.  She is a leading paediatric occupational therapist (OT) involved in clinical treatment, research, mentoring, and training regarding OT intervention for persons with neurodevelopment disorders, especially Fragile X syndrome and autism.
